We have a worthwhile mission, a great team, and an honorable tradition traced back to our nations roots. As a result, for over 120 years, the men and women of the EWFD have provided uninterrupted volunteer emergen

cy service without so much as one second of down-time. We band together today, just as others did in 1889, to provide the residents with the most efficient and cost effective fire service possible.

At approximately 9:33 p.m. last night, the East Williston Fire Department was dispatched to provide an engine to standby for the Garden City Park Fire Department. GCPFD was engaged in extinguishing a second-alarm fire at the gas station located at 2399 Jericho Turnpike. During this standby period, EWFD Engine , Chief 8100 , Chief 8101 & Roslyn Ladder responded to an additional water flow alarm at the Mama Theresa strip mall, which was subsequently determined to be a false alarm.

This morning the East Williston Fire Department, Engine 814, participated in a joint training exercise in Mineola. The commercial building located at 114 Old Country Road, slated for demolition in the upcoming months, provided local Fire and EMS agencies with a valuable training opportunity.

Participating Agencies: Mineola Fire Department, MVAC (ambulance), Williston Park Fire Department (1 Engine), Garden City Fire Department (1 Truck), East Williston Fire Department (1 Engine), Carle Place Fire Department (Firefighter Assist & Search [FAS] Team), and Syosset Fire Department (Drone Team).
