๐Ÿšญ East Windsor Police Department Conducts To***co Compliance Checks ๐Ÿšญ

The East Windsor Police Department recently partnered with the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) to conduct to***co and v**e sales compliance checks at local retailers on May 22 and June 15, 2026.

A total of 17 retailers were inspected, with 15 found in compliance with state laws prohibiting the sale of to***co and va**ng products to individuals under 21 years of age. Two retailers failed the compliance check, and the clerks involved were issued citations.

Youth va**ng and to***co use remain serious concerns in our community. The East Windsor Police Department is committed to reducing youth access to these products and is working alongside East Windsor's Local Prevention Council to promote prevention, education, and awareness efforts.

We appreciate the cooperation of our local businesses and their commitment to helping keep to***co and va**ng products out of the hands of minors.

For more information, please read the full press release.

Throughout the school year, our officers have been detailed to enforce school bus stop sign violations and unfortunately, this still occurs on a regular basis. Working in conjunction with residents, we often get sent privately captured videos of violators. These videos get emailed, direct messaged and even sent to our staff personally. The depicted video is from a few days ago on South Main Street at drop-off time. It was forwarded to an officer who followed up and cited the operator accordingly. These violations are completely avoidable and unacceptable. We will continue to monitor throughout the town and will take enforcement when warranted.

โš ๏ธ COMMUNITY NOTICE: Unlicensed Door-to-Door Solicitation

The East Windsor Police Department has received numerous complaints regarding aggressive door-to-door sales tactics from representatives of Moxie Pest Control. We have also been monitoring similar reports and concerns shared on local East Windsor, CT Facebook community pages.

Earlier today, officers located these individuals. They have been officially cited for soliciting without a permit and have been advised that any continued aggressive tactics may result in escalating criminal action.

What you need to know:

Check for Permits: Anyone soliciting door-to-door in East Windsor must have a valid town-issued permit. You have the right to ask to see it.

Report Suspicious Activity: If a salesperson refuses to leave your property, becomes aggressive, or cannot produce a permit, please contact the East Windsor Police Department's non-emergency line immediately at 860-292-8240.

Thank you to the community members who spoke up and reported this behavior!

Young men and women from the community joined our staff for a group workout & even braved the 10 minutes of sideways rain! If you know a young person (ages 13-18) who's interested in getting some exercise with our officers, please email Community Service Officer Sanchez at [email protected] for information about our next outing.
