🚨 Air Quality Advisory – Free N95 Masks Available 🚨

Air quality across Westchester County is expected to reach levels deemed “unhealthy for everyone” today. The Westchester County Health Department is encouraging residents to reduce the amount of time they spend outdoors, keep windows closed, and run their air conditioners.

As of now, the advisory remains in effect until midnight July 16. The poor air quality is the result of fine particulate matter from Canadian wildfires blanketing the region.

😷 The Eastchester Fire Department is providing FREE N95 masks to community members while supplies last. Masks are available at Fire Headquarters (255 Main Street, Eastchester)

To protect yourself:

• Limit time outdoors, especially strenuous activity.
• Keep windows closed and run your air conditioner if possible.
• If you must be outside, consider wearing a KN95 or N95 mask.
• Children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and those with asthma, heart disease, or other respiratory conditions should take extra precautions.

Watch for symptoms such as coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, irritated eyes or throat, or unusual fatigue. If you experience severe difficulty breathing or chest pain, call 911 immediately.

Stay informed, take precautions, and help protect yourself and your family during this air quality event.
