The eCenter is regularly open as a place for the youth of the Eastland county community to come and play games such as X-box, pool (traditional & bumper), Wii, board, domino, and card games, air hockey, foosball, and to just hang out and get off the streets. This is a place of positive values with Jesus at its center, but also one free from religious pressure, confusing religious insignia and deno
minational legalese, and any of the possible negative aspects of a church. The scriptural basis for the eCenter comes from Acts 20:9-10:
Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus (yoo-too-khos), who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!”
The “e” in eCenter stands for Eastland and everyone. But it also stands for Eutychus, the youth we no longer can afford to just talk to death about Jesus clouded with denominations and church affiliation. One of the local judges has commented that he has seen a drastic change in the quantity of juveniles coming through his court since the eCeNTeR has been in operation.
