From time to time, we receive calls and messages from people who are considering moving to our area and would like information about local crime statistics.

Our agency reports all incident data monthly to the FBI through the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS). The FBI compiles this information and makes it available to the public on its website.

On June 2, 2026, officers with the Eastman Police Department, along with deputies from the Dodge County Sheriff's Office, executed a search warrant at an apartment located at Heritage Villas in connection with the Cricket Wireless burglary investigation.

During the ex*****on of the search warrant, investigators recovered stolen property related to both the Cricket Wireless burglary and a separate burglary that occurred in Chauncey. As a result of the investigation, Devin Bradley Nickens was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

Burglary – Forced Entry
Criminal Damage to Property in the Second Degree
Theft by Taking
Criminal Trespass
Wearing a Mask to Conceal Identity
Possession of Co***ne

The successful resolution of these cases was the result of the outstanding teamwork, dedication, and professionalism demonstrated by the officers and deputies involved. We would like to commend all personnel from the Eastman Police Department and the Dodge County Sheriff's Office who contributed to this investigation and helped bring it to a successful conclusion.

Their commitment to serving the community and working cooperatively across agencies is greatly appreciated.

On the morning of May 31, 2026, a burglary was reported at the Eastman Cricket phone store. During the incident, a window was smashed and a suspect unlawfully entered the business, stealing multiple items.

Investigators determined that the suspect dropped property at the scene that had been taken during a previous burglary at a business in Chauncey. Through the use of city surveillance cameras, Flock camera technology, and diligent investigative work by our officers, an arrest was made.

Kevin Allen of Chauncey was arrested in connection with the burglary. Officers also recovered six of the iPhones that had been stolen from the Eastman Cricket store. This investigation additionally assisted Dodge County authorities in solving a burglary that occurred in Chauncey.

The investigation remains active, and additional arrests are anticipated.

Charges against Kevin Allen include:

Burglary (Forced Entry)
Theft by Taking
Criminal Trespass
Criminal Damage to Property, Second Degree
