Regulations and funding around summer school change from year to year. This year our finances limited our enrollment. Advocating for those with the greatest needs is important to me and I am not afraid to speak up! Please watch me in action at a board meeting this past summer.

In the last 4 years I have advocated for staff in a number of ways. One way is our Marathon Health Center! All staff, and their families, can access free primary and urgent care!

School board members must participate in committees which meet monthly in addition to our regular closed and public meetings. I am proud to serve on Policy Committee. Did you know that part of the school board role is visiting all the schools in our district? We regularly visit classrooms and do school walkthroughs. We also have areas of focus on our visits, such as school improvement plans. I was pleased to visit every school in Talbot County on the first day of school. We hit over 8,000 steps that day. It’s important to have board members who can meet the many requirements of the role. Vote for me in November!
