As hurricane season approaches, our county and municipal partners recently came together for Damage Assessment Training to strengthen our preparedness efforts. By working together and building a common understanding of post-storm assessment processes, we are better equipped to evaluate impacts, support recovery efforts, and serve our communities when it matters most. Thank you to everyone who attended and for your continued commitment to keeping our county prepared and resilient.

🌡️ Extreme Heat Expected Today and Tomorrow 🌡️

Eary summer high temperatures and heat index values can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses. Know the signs and prepare!

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
Spend time in air-conditioned buildings when possible.
Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing.
Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and those without adequate cooling.

Know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and call 911 immediately if someone is experiencing symptoms of a heat emergency.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, stay Talbot Ready.

Join the Next Comprehensive Plan Work Session 6/17 at 9am

Talbot County residents are invited to attend the next Comprehensive Plan Work Session in June, where the Planning Commission will review and discuss the second draft of the Transportation, Natural Resources, and Fisheries chapters of the Draft Comprehensive Plan.

Draft Chapters will be available by the end of the week here in Engage.

Do you have a passion for creating exceptional food and leading a kitchen team? Hog Neck Golf Course is seeking a Chef to oversee our café and catering operations.

This position is responsible for menu development, food preparation, staff leadership, inventory management, budgeting, and catering events serving up to 200 guests.

We're looking for someone with culinary expertise, leadership experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Job Opening: Executive Chef / Cafe Manager
Type of Position: Full-Time
Department: Hog Neck Golf Corse
Salary: $50,883 - $52,410 D.O.Q.
Summary: Reporting to the General Manager of Hog Neck Golf Course, the Chef creates a variety of menu items for a 26-seat café. The Chef also caters events of up to 200 guests for the pavilion space.
