This truck doesn’t respond on its own. It takes people who care about their community.

Behind every apparatus is a team of dedicated volunteers who give their time, train hard, and answer the call when our community needs help.

Emergency response vehicles need drivers and operators: people dedicated enough to give their time when the call comes: people who understand that it cannot always be "someone else's job" or "I am too busy".

We’re always looking for men and women who want to make a difference. No experience is necessary—we provide the training. No required/set schedule, you respond when you can.

Folks, summer has decided to return! It is hot, it is dry, and we have a week and a half before we get out of the 90 plus degree temps with more than a 10% chance of rain. These are our brush trucks and the tender in the background. We would really not like to visit your property with them. If you would like to see the trucks, please give us a call and we will be more than happy to give you a tour at the station. Please be extra careful with fire and potential ignition sources for the next couple weeks. Thank you - ATFD

On Tuesday, Sept 1st, 6pm, there will be a Township budget meeting at the Alexandria Township fire station to discuss the proposed 2027 budget. The Township's goal is to align the cost of fire services for all our residents while lowering the total collective MIL rate. The Township welcomes our residents to attend.

The Leavenworth County Fair is still going on at the Tonganoxie County Fair Grounds. ATFD members manned the Leavenworth County Emergency Management's, Fire Department table last night, handing out junior firefighter helmets, coloring books and crayons to the kiddos. We'll be there tomorrow night as well. Feel free to stop by, 6 - 9 pm, and meet us! 🚨

HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM TO 9 PM CDT MONDAY.

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 107 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and central, north central, northwest, and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...From 1 PM to 9 PM CDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

We encourage everyone to have a festive (and safe) 4th of July with family and friends. Please be safe when using fireworks and disposing of them also (see #4)(we really don't want an invite to your home this weekend!). Likewise, please insure that as you are enjoying the day and evening out and about, use a designated driver to get everyone home safely. Thank you and happy 250th America!

Alexandria Township Fire Dept and Easton Township Fire Department conducted joint training on water drafting and relay pumping. Joint training facilitates cooperation and interoperability between adjacent/supporting departments. It also allows department members to familiarize themselves with apparatus from our mutual aid fire departments. Great job today everyone, and thank you to all who participated!
