Earlier this year, Wilson Borough Fire Department firefighter Bobby Lewullis was seriously injured while battling a fire at the Hampton Inn in downtown Easton. Thankfully, Bobby continues to recover, and we hope to see him back doing what he loves when he's ready.

His accident was a powerful reminder of the risks our firefighters face every time they answer a call. After one of our Lions members, former firefighter Brad Henley, suggested helping provide bailout bags, we learned Chief Sipel and the department were already working toward that same goal.

Working together with the Easton Fire Department, Wilson Borough was able to purchase 25 bailout bags—lifesaving emergency escape equipment that costs approximately $450 each. While the Wilson Borough Lions Club did not purchase all of the bags, we were honored to contribute toward their cost and help invest in the safety of the men and women who protect our community.

Last night, we proudly presented Chief Sipel with our donation. We hope these bailout bags are never needed, but if they are, they could help ensure another firefighter makes it home safely.

Thank you to Chief Sipel, the entire Wilson Borough Fire Department, and especially Firefighter Bobby Lewullis for your courage, dedication, and sacrifice. We wish Bobby a continued and speedy recovery.

We Serve.
