His dedication, leadership and professionalism have shaped our department and strengthened campus safety for two decades.

A true champion of community policing, Lieutenant Washington is the Lead ALICE Instructor and a valued contributor to Health and Wellness and Residence Life programming, remaining deeply committed to education, preparedness, and partnership across campus.

Our thoughts are with the men and women of the Boston Police Department (Official) as they mourn the loss of active duty Detective Bruce W. Higgins, Jr.

Detective Higgins was a 27-year veteran of the department who passed after a courageous six year battle with Melanoma.

Our prayers are with Detective Higgins' family and friends during this difficult time. Including our own Sergeant Paul Parlon, a childhood friend of Bruce's from West Roxbury who remained close with him through adulthood.

Please join us in congratulating our friend and former Stonehill College Communications Officer Ryan Marshall on graduating from the MPTC
Plymouth Police Academy 78th Recruit Officer Class.

Ryan's journey from dispatcher to officer is an inspiration and we couldn't be prouder of him. We wish Ryan all the best as he embarks on his new career with the Middleborough Police Department.

As part of National Police Week, Officer Paul Parlon took part in the Police Unity Tour.

Every year, members of law enforcement, along with survivors of line-of-duty deaths, from across the United States unite for a massive ride that pays tribute to fallen law enforcement heroes. "They ride for those who died."

On May 9th Officer Parlon left from New Jersey for Washington D.C. Along the 325 mile route he stopped and honored several officers throughout various states that lost their lives. On May 12th after arriving in the nation's capital, over 2000 riders gathered to ride through the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

Every year for the past 14 years Officer Parlon has rode for his grandfather, Sgt. John J. O'Brien (Boston PD-EOW 10/05/1981).

This year Officer Parlon and his team rode in memory of Sgt. Sean Gannon (Yarmouth PD-EOW 4/12/2018) and Sgt. lan Taylor (Billerica PD-EOW 4/26/2004).

These pictures and videos are from various stops Officer Parlon made along the tour. The big stop is at RFK Stadium where all the riders and motors gather for the final 3 mile trek to the Memorial.

Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day please join us in remembering all who've lost their lives on duty and thanking Officer Parlon and his team for participating in this meaningful event.
