The Palmer Township Police Department
(Northampton County, Pennsylvania)

The Board of Supervisors established the Department in November 1946. The Department then consisted of three members. In May 1947, an additional officer was hired to provide additional coverage for a growing community. From that time forward the department has grown to 37 sworn officers, 35 full-time and 2 part-time. Also, there are two non-uniform employees that handle a combination of dispatch a

nd administrative functions. In addition to their normal day-to-day functions and patrols the department has formed a number of specialty units. Specialty Units:
Detective Unit - 4 officers
K-9 Unit - 4 certified canine work dogs and handlers
Community Police - 2 officers to include a bike patrol
Crime Prevention Unit

At this evening’s Palmer Township Board of Supervisors meeting, Officer Emmanuel Cintron was sworn in as the newest full time Police Officer for the Palmer Township Police Department.

Officer Cintron’s family, along with our residents attended this special evening along with members of the Palmer Township Police Department.

Officer Cintron brings 3 years of Police experience, as he previously served with the Allentown Police Department.

Please welcome him and look forward to seeing him around the township as he begins his field training program tomorrow morning.
