Today we are talking about work-based learning programs. For the Class of 2026, 46 students Completed at least 1 internship, and 14 completed an approved apprenticeship.

At the TCPS, we believe the right opportunity, paired with the right mentor and a student willing to put in the work, can cultivate something that lasts well beyond high school.

The Youth Apprenticeship program is a partnership with local employers and the Maryland Department of Labor that allows students to “earn while they learn!” Juniors and seniors are eligible to work in career-track occupations while being provided fair compensation. Upon completion of the program, students will earn four high school credits. Businesses can hire and mentor their future employees by developing the in-demand skills needed for their industries!

Did you know that the Talbot County Sheriff's Office operates the Teen Court Program? This program is open to students, ages 13-17 and offers great opportunities to develop skills like public speaking, while building confidence and being part of something meaningful. Please help spread the word about this training next week.

Many thanks to Dr. James Bell, Vice President of the Maryland State Board of Education, for taking the time to join Dr. Helga Einhorn for a visit to Easton High School last week! He spoke with students enrolled in our National Education Opportunity Network (NEON) college courses, met with counselors, and visited our Auto Tech and Culinary Career and Technical Education programs! The Talbot County Resource Expo will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Easton Elementary School, 307 Glenwood Ave. Easton, MD! Check out this wonderful opportunity to learn about the services and agencies available in our community!

On October 21, we wore orange to show unity for kindness, acceptance and inclusion and to send a visible message that no child should ever experience bullying! Students and staff had many opportunities to connect by participating in collaborative art projects, kindness projects, buddy activities and spirit weeks!
