The Maryland State Board of Education and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) held a special recognition for the 2026-2027 Teachers of the Year at the Nancy S. Grasmick State Education Building on May 28. Sharon Pepukayi, Ed.D., Zulieka Jarmon-Horsey, Ed.D, and Kari Clow, Ed.D. were proud to accompany our Talbot Teacher of the Year, Holly Sump. They were joined by State Board of Education member and TCPS Parent, Dr. James C. Bell, Jr. It was an awesome day celebrating Maryland public education!

Susannah is a truly deserving kindergarten teacher whose dedication, patience, and love for her students shine through each and every day. She creates a welcoming classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. Through her kindness, creativity, and commitment, she helps build a strong foundation for our youngest learners both academically and socially. She consistently goes above and beyond for her students, making sure every moment is an opportunity for learning.
