Please use caution and avoid the area if possible: Dover Rd. (331) in the area of Triple Farm Way. MSP, Fire Department and EMS are on the scene of a MVC. At this time the Eastbound Lane is closed.

As we celebrate National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we’re proud to recognize these outstanding Communication Specialists for their recent achievements.

Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to excellence play a vital role in supporting our first responders and keeping our community safe. Whether it’s staying calm under pressure, working seamlessly as a team, or going above and beyond in critical moments, each of them represents the very best of what this profession stands for.

Please join us in congratulating them and thanking all of our telecommunicators for the incredible work they do every day—often behind the scenes, but always making a difference.

1- 9-1-1 Lieutenants Jessica Wolfe, Heather Jones, Cody Lomax, RJ Jones, Kari English, and Dave Tyler (Tech Services) were recently awarded a 9-1-1 Chiefs Award in recognition of their exceptional dedication, teamwork, and technical expertise during the Vesta phone system upgrade and go-live project.
Throughout the process, they demonstrated outstanding initiative by proactively identifying and resolving potential issues before they could impact operations. Their meticulous attention to detail ensured all system data was thoroughly validated, resulting in a high level of accuracy and reliability. They worked collaboratively across shifts and roles, maintaining clear communication and coordination to keep the project on track and minimize disruptions to emergency services. In addition, they provided support and guidance to fellow staff, helping ensure a smooth transition and building confidence in the new system. Their willingness to go above and beyond was instrumental in the project’s success.

2- Maddy Burgess is recognized with the Calm in the Storm Award for her strong awareness and attentiveness while working the police console for a local agency. While monitoring available systems, she noticed something that didn’t seem right and quickly brought it to an officer’s attention, helping ensure medical assistance was requested without delay.
Maddy’s ability to stay focused and make good use of the tools available to her shows just how important situational awareness is in dispatch. Her quick thinking and calm response made a difference, highlighting her dedication and the vital role dispatchers play in supporting both officers and the public.

3- Maddy Burgess was selected as Dispatcher of the Quarter for Quarter 1 in recognition of her positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to the team. She consistently demonstrates a willingness to help others, takes initiative, and approaches each shift with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Maddy is a dependable team player who contributes to a supportive work environment while maintaining a high level of performance in her duties. Her dedication to the job and the people she works with makes her a valuable asset and well deserving of this recognition.

Flooding is the number one natural hazard in Maryland. Therefore, April is designated Flood Awareness Month in Maryland so that local, state, federal, academic, business, and non-profit partners can share information and tools that will allow you to:

We want to share information about a planned prescribed burn at Oxford Conservation Park on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

DES is aware of the burn, so there is no need to call to report smoke or fire in this area. 🧑‍🚒🔥

🚨 Prescribed Burn – March 24

The Maryland Forest Service will conduct a prescribed burn at Oxford Conservation Park on Tuesday, March 24 (weather permitting) on behalf of Talbot County.

Residents may see smoke in the area, and drivers along Route 333 should use caution. Burn hazard signs will be posted prior to ignition.
