With students heading back to the classroom, keeping them safe is a shared community responsibility. Officers will be looking for drivers who are speeding, using cell phones and disregarding school bus signals.

Familiarize yourself with the school bus laws, which include slowing down and preparing to stop for yellow flashing school bus lights and stopping for red flashing school bus lights. Remain vigilant around bus stops, school zones, and school buses.

Quick tips for drivers:
📱 Put the phone away and eliminate distractions.
👀 Stay alert for children crossing the street.
🚌 Stop completely for school buses with flashing red lights.
🚸 Slow down in school zones.

Our kids are counting on you to stay focused and alert. Let’s work together to have a safe back to school season! Drive safe!
