In Memoriam :
Ethel Mae Green Edwards transitioned to heaven on June 1, 2026 to be with the Lord and to reunite with her husband James M. Edwards, on June 6 she would have celebrated her 98th birthday born in rock Hill, New Jersey Ethel grew up in Port Maury, New Jersey Jand lived a very blessed and fulfilled life. She and her husband, James, Jimmy Edwards prior to his passing had enjoyed 72 years of marriage. She lovely referred to as her sons and daughters her kindness, strength and love touch. Everyone who knew her knew she enjoyed traveling, gardening, socializing, cooking, decorating, and entertaining following retirement she transforms your creativity to small b creations by Ethel, designing beds, curtains, floral arrangements, and African inspired clothing, her encouraging spirit, motivated women in the eastern area to start small businesses of their She spearheaded a project, providing clothes to the needy and later let a ministry that fed the homeless at a local shelter as a leader of the willing workers she with others organized fundraising efforts that helped offset the cost of purchasing land and rebuilding Shiloh Baptist Church in Easton Pennsylvania after the original church building was demolished. Her dedication, and Service earned her cherished honor of being recognized as mother of the church in her year. After relocating to Stone Mountain, Georgia, she became a devoted member of the green forest community Baptist Church under the leadership Reverend Dr. Christian Waters Walters officially known as Mother Edwards. She faithfully attended the victory fulfillment, class and Sunday worship service and singing in the woman's Day choir, she was loved and respected by her green forest family beyond her church Ethel was a lifelong member NAACP an active member of Palmer Township AARP being community minded she was involved with many church functions and started many social groups in Easton Pennsylvania the profile club the ladies luncheon group the red hats treating lasting friendships and opportunities for fellowship before retirement. Ethel made history as the first African American woman hired in manufacturing at Dixie manufacturing Easton Pennsylvania in 1993 after 25 years of service as a welder, she retired from ITT electronic tube division. Memories will be cherished by her daughter Daughter's Gail Edwards, Moffett, (Danny) husband, Linda Edwards, her grandson deputy Moffett (Melissa), a great great granddaughter, Keira, Moffett sisters, Mary, Ina, Sue, Beverly, and a host to be beloved, extended family, friends, nieces, nephews and loved ones. She was proceeded and death by her husband, James M Edwards and her great grandson Deboney L Moffett, the second celebration of life honoring Ethel will be held at in Easton Pennsylvania on August 28th, 2026, Northampton Memorial Shrine 3051 Green Pond Rd.
