Briana Yancey, commander 108th Public Affairs Detachment(PAD), is awarded the Army Commendation Medal for her time, dedication and completing the mission of telling the story of the South Carolina National Guard, Dec. 6, 2025, in Columbia, South Carolina. Yancey served as the Commander of the 108th PAD from Sept. of 2023 to Dec. 2025. Capt. Yancey also mobilized overseas as a four man team to provide direct public affairs support to the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Georgia Army National Guard in 2024 to Kosovo. The South Carolina National Guard conducts a retirement ceremony for U.S. Army Brig. Gen. David M. Jenkins, assistant adjutant general-Army, Aug. 9, 2025, at South Carolina State University, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. Jenkins was awarded the Palmetto Cross, Guardsman Retirement Medal, Certificate of Retirement from the United States Armed Forces, and various tokens of appreciation for his service. Jenkins served for more than 34 years and held several key positions in the organization, to include the 228th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade commander, chief of staff at the 263rd Army Air and Missile Defense Command, and the state communications officer (G6).
