Today we honor Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, commemorating June 19, 1865. This marks the day when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth is a time to reflect on freedom, celebrate progress, and recognize the importance of unity, equality, and hope for the future.

At Eastover-Central, we celebrate the richness of history and the strength found in community. ❤️

Join me for four days of creativity, imagination, and fun!

⏰ Monday–Wednesday: 9:00 AM–12:00 PM
🍎 Thursday: 9:00 AM–1:00 PM (bring your own lunch)
📍 Stedman Recreation Center Gym – Art Room
💲 $150 per child
📚 Grades K-5

Registration includes:

Today we celebrate the American flag, a symbol of our nation’s history, freedom, and unity.

At Eastover-Central Elementary School of Arts, we are proud to help our students learn about the values represented by the stars and stripes: respect, responsibility, perseverance, and service to others.

Another camp opportunity!

🌿 This summer, adventure awaits in the jungle. 🌿

Green Tea Youth Theatre Company’s Jungalbook Summer Camp invites young performers ages 8–18 to spend four exciting weeks exploring theatre, storytelling, movement, music, creativity, teamwork, and performance.

Think: acting games, new friends, big imagination, jungle-sized confidence, and one full theatrical production at the end of it all.

📅 Camp Dates: June 23–July 17, 2026
⏰ Time: 9:00 AM–3:30 PM, Monday–Friday
📍 Location: The Capitol Encore Academy, 126 Hay Street
🎟️ Cost: $325 (scholarships available)
👥 Ages: 8–18
🌿 Capacity: 30 students
🎭 Performances: July 17 & 18, 2026
