As Hurricane Isaias approaches, we want to encourage everyone throughout Alligator Point, Bald Point, St. Teresa, and our surrounding communities to take the necessary precautions and prioritize their safety.

Please take a moment to read the attached statement regarding the mandatory evacuation, emergency response limitations, and important safety information.

Our volunteers are making preparations, and we remain committed to serving our community as conditions safely allow.

Please stay informed, follow Franklin County Florida Emergency Management for official updates, and most importantly, take care of yourselves and one another.

🔺St George Island (and other areas of Franklin County) are currently under a “MANDATORY EVACUATION” order.🔺

REMINDER FOR SGI, and all low lying areas:

Even if there is not bad rain or wind, there will still be flooding, and we don't know how bad it will be. If you remain on St. George Island, FIRE AND RESCUE PERSONNEL MAY NOT BE ABLE TO RESPOND TO A 911 CALL. Think about that... Even a minor injury, completely unrelated to the hurricane, could become life threatening.

Please follow and comply with the Franklin County Florida Emergency Management recommendations and orders.

Sandbags are available at the SGI VFD Firehouse at 324 E Pine Ave.

Sandbag locations will open tomorrow morning at 8:30AM and will be open through tomorrow at 4:30PM.

We share as much information as we can, but for updates on urgent events (like, say, a Hurricane in the Gulf), Franklin County Florida Emergency Management is the local authority.
