🔥🚒SGI VFD maintains Class 4 ISO rating!🚒🔥

The St. George Island Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to announce the successful completion of our recent ISO (Insurance Services Office) Public Protection Classification inspection, a comprehensive evaluation that takes place every five years.

The ISO review assesses much more than just the fire department. It evaluates the effectiveness of the entire fire protection system, including fire department operations, training, equipment, water supply infrastructure, and emergency communications capabilities, and ultimately affects insurance rates for the businesses and homeowners.

We are proud to report that St. George Island has maintained its ISO Class 4 rating, an achievement that reflects the hard work and dedication of our firefighters, the support of our community partners, and the continued investment in our fire protection infrastructure.

Maintaining a Class 4 rating is a significant accomplishment, but we are not stopping there. We remain committed to build on this success and position ourselves to achieve an even better rating during our next ISO evaluation.

Thank you to all for your continuing support, and to all our partners that work tirelessly on maintaining and improving the safety of the people and property on St. George Island and Greater Franklin County.

🚩🚩The beaches on St George Island are currently under DOUBLE RED FLAGS. 🚩🚩

We know there are still people ignoring the Double Red Flags - we are riding the beach with our UTVs to remind them at this time.

For your safety and the safety of 1st Responders,
please stay out of the water.
