Our EHS students brought ALL their energy to last Friday's homecoming pep rally! The fall sports teams and homecoming court members were announced, the pep band and cheerleaders performed, and the classes competed against one another in musical chairs, a balloon-popping relay race, and lifesize Hungry Hungry Hippos. It was a great way to head into the weekend's festivities! ☘️

Students currently attending Eastpointe elementary schools would be the first to fully experience the 6-12 campus.

The proposed improvements would include separate middle and high school learning areas, updated classrooms, specialized instructional spaces, and improvements to aging building systems.

The school district is planning for the students who will use these facilities in the years ahead, not just those attending the high school today.

Mrs. Buccilli’s kindergarten class at Forest Park loves the book "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" In fact, they read their classroom copy so many times that it fell apart, so they had to check out a copy from the school library while it gets repaired! The students were so excited to read it again to Mrs. Dyrval. We are so thrilled to see the love of reading growing in their kindergarten classroom! 🐻❤️📖

While much of the conversation about the November 3 bond proposal has focused on Eastpointe High School, the plan also includes significant improvements to the Early Learning Center.

The Early Learning Center is nearing capacity, reflecting the demand for early childhood education in our community. More than half of the children who enroll in Eastpointe's early childhood programs continue into the school district's kindergarten classrooms.

For many students, this is where their educational journey begins. It's where they develop foundational skills, build relationships, and prepare for the transition to elementary school.

The proposed bond would improve classrooms, restrooms, heating and cooling systems, lighting, fire alarms, kitchen areas, furniture, and technology. These improvements are about more than updating a building. They would help the school district maintain functional, safe learning spaces for its youngest students while supporting critical early childhood programs.

Learn more about the proposed Early Learning Center improvements and the bond proposal at www.eastpointeschools.org/2026-bond/. Vote November 3!

Word building teaches students how to make and read words! At Crescentwood, Mrs. Stubblefield and our academic paraprofessionals were working with students in small groups last week to help them learn how to build words starting with an S blend. Activities like this help keep students moving on their path to becoming more fluent readers! 📚️

Mrs. Roell's preschoolers at the Early Learning Center have been working on self-portraits each month in small groups. First, students wrote their names the best they could, then looked in the mirror before drawing themselves. More than just a fun coloring project, this activity supports name recognition, observation skills, and self-awareness. Everything is preschool is about learning through play!

We will be opening another GSRP classroom soon -- if you know a preschool child who turns 4 on or before December 1, we would love to have them at the ELC!
