💙 Community Support That Makes a Difference! 💙

We were thrilled to welcome back the Women’s Council of Realtors to the VFW National Home!

During their visit, these wonderful volunteers generously donated their time to assist with inventory in our Welcome Center. In addition to lending a helping hand, they presented the National Home with a generous donation to support our mission.

We are incredibly grateful for their continued kindness, generosity, and dedication to making a difference in the lives of our Veterans and their families.

Thank you to the Women’s Council of Realtors for your ongoing support and for being such a valued part of our National Home community! 😁

A little reminder as we head into a new week. 💙

Progress doesn’t always happen overnight, and not every accomplishment comes with a big celebration.

Sometimes, it’s found in the little things. Taking a step outside your comfort zone, finding the courage to try again, or simply choosing to keep moving forward.

Whatever this season of life looks like for you, remember that every step counts, no matter how small.

Here’s to another week of growth, new opportunities, and fresh beginnings. 🌿

🌾 FUN FACT FRIDAY! 🐄

Did you know the VFW National Home was once a working farm?

When the National Home welcomed its very first family, Annie Pollett and her six children, on March 9, 1925, the property looked quite different from what we know today!

The grounds were filled with fields of oats, cows, chickens, and other farm animals. The Pollett children even had daily chores helping care for the animals.

What began as a farmhouse and working farm has grown into the community we know today, continuing a legacy of supporting military and veteran families for over 100 years. ❤️🤍💙

Take a look back at where it all began!

🎬 Behind the Scenes! 🎬

A big thank you to Major Kay with the Michigan National Guard for believing in our mission and helping us spread the word about the VFW National Home!

The more veterans and families we can reach, the more lives we can impact. We're grateful for those who help us share our story and connect more families with the resources and support they deserve!

We can't wait to see the finished article and share it with all of you!😁

🚒🔥 Fire Safety Fun at the Early Education Center!

Our little learners at the VFW National Home had an exciting day exploring fire safety and getting an up-close look at some of the historic fire trucks from our former on-campus fire station! From learning about fire safety to exploring the trucks, it was a fun-filled experience full of curiosity, smiles, and important lessons.

Through hands-on experiences like these, our children have the opportunity to learn valuable safety skills while making lasting memories!

What a fun way to bring a little piece of the National Home’s history to life for our youngest residents! ❤️🚒

A Little Something Sweet from Our RAVE Team! 🍞✨

Our RAVE team was hard at work in the kitchen, baking 48 loaves of homemade zucchini bread for our staff and families here at the VFW National Home!

It was a fun day of teamwork, laughter, and putting a little extra love into something special for our National Home community.

A big shoutout to Kim for sharing her delicious recipe and serving as the team’s official “consultant” throughout the process! We couldn’t have done it without her! 💙

A little kindness goes a long way, especially when it’s homemade! 🥰

A little Sunday reminder from the VFW National Home. 💙

Life doesn’t always go as planned, and the road ahead isn’t always clear. But every challenge overcome, every lesson learned, and every small step forward is part of a bigger journey.

As we head into a new week, remember to give yourself credit for how far you’ve come and look forward to all that lies ahead. The challenges of yesterday do not define the possibilities of tomorrow. ✨
