With a heat advisory and September temperatures climbing above 90 degrees, we’re definitely ready to start thinking COOL thoughts — and few things sound cooler right now than the Whispering Christmas Jingle Jog! 🏃‍♀️🎅❄️

While we may have a little while before Fort St. Clair is glowing with Christmas lights and runners are making their way through the park, now is the perfect time to sign up for one of the coolest events of the year!

🏛️ CITY BUILDING CLOSED FOR LABOR DAY

The City of Eaton Municipal Building will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day.

The City Building will reopen for regular business hours at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8.

🗑️ Trash collection will NOT be delayed for the holiday. Residents should place their trash out according to their regular collection schedule.

🇺🇸 HONOR. REMEMBER. REFLECT. 🇺🇸

The City of Eaton encourages the community to visit a powerful traveling memorial coming to Eaton Sept. 11-13.

The VAU Fallen Heroes Memorial Dog Tag Flag features 7,095 dog tags arranged to form an American flag, with each tag honoring a U.S. service member who lost their life in the Global War on Terror.

The memorial will be displayed at the Preble County Council on Aging, 800 E. St. Clair St., and is free to visit.

🇺🇸 Saturday, Sept. 12: 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
🇺🇸 Sunday, Sept. 13: 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Behind every dog tag is a name, a life and a story of service and sacrifice.

We hope members of our community will take time during this special weekend — which begins on the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks — to experience this moving memorial and honor the fallen.

Thank you to the Preble County Council on Aging and everyone helping bring this meaningful display to Eaton.

We’ve reached the final weekend of the 2026 season at Main Street Aquatic Center! There are just a few more chances to enjoy the pool before we say goodbye to summer.

🏊 FINAL POOL HOURS:
• Saturday: 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
• Sunday: Noon-5 p.m.
• Labor Day Monday: Noon-5 p.m.

🐾 DOGGIE DIP — LABOR DAY!
After the pool closes to its human swimmers Monday, Sept. 7, it’s time for the dogs to take over!
