Big Stone Mill House

Big Stone Mill House The stone house was built in 1802 for Joseph Morse. In 2010, a fire started and the house has been empty ever since. Now we get to love the house.

The brick building on the property was built as a land office in the early to mid 1800s. Its roof has failed, creating an unintentional skylight and it is in need of some immediate attention. But the walls are solid - a true testiment to the construction and craftsmanship used to build it.

I love the details that remain original in our buildings. These photos are of the white house, which was moved to this location from nearby in the 1990s, I believe.
The doorknob is my favorite. It's such a necessary element to a building but it has such craftsmanship and beauty.
