❤️‍🩹 Flu Season Reminder 🤧

During flu season, we want to share an important reminder about when to call 911 and what to expect at the hospital.

If you have flu symptoms like fever, cough, body aches, sore throat, or fatigue going to the hospital by ambulance does NOT mean you’ll be seen faster. Emergency rooms treat patients based on the severity of their condition, not on how they arrive.

Many flu symptoms can be treated at home with:
• Rest
• Drinking plenty of fluids
• Fever reducers (as directed)
• Staying home so you don’t spread illness

🚨 Call 911 right away if you or someone with the flu has:

•Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

•Chest pain or persistent pressure

•Sudden dizziness, confusion or severe weakness

•Severe or prolonged vomiting

•Flu symptoms that improve but return with a high fever or worsening cough

Children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and those with chronic medical conditions are at higher risk for complications. If symptoms become severe, call 911 immediately.

Knowing when to call 911 helps emergency responders get to people who need immediate, life-saving care. ❤️‍🩹

Putnam County EMS devised an innovative fundraising strategy in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. Employees opting to wear specially designed shirts in lieu of their standard uniforms contributed $10 each. This initiative successfully raised $150, contributing to the organization's overall fundraising objective. We commend the department for its dedication to promoting Breast Cancer Awareness. 🚒✨ SOARing into Safety! ✨🚑

Putnam County Primary School first-grade students are learning how to SOAR — by being Safe, Organized, Accountable, and Responsible!

To enhance their lesson, students visited Putnam County Fire and EMS Station 10, where they met with Paramedics, EMTs, Firefighters, and Police Officers. They had the opportunity to explore emergency vehicles and equipment while learning about the important roles these professionals play in keeping our community safe.

We are grateful for every opportunity to connect with our community’s youth and inspire them to learn more about safety, responsibility, and public service.
