Mutual Aid starts before the calls! We regularly train with neighboring departments so when we’re on scene together we all have a better understanding of each others capabilities and limitations of equipment. Monday night we were able to get together with Township Fire Department - Eau Claire, WI Station 3 from Union and do some joint pumps training. The Caryville boat landing is a planned tender fill site for a few different departments, so it was a good chance to practice there especially with the low river conditions!

We send our deepest sympathies to family and friends of Firefighter Jungbluth and his second family at Eau Claire Fire.

His loss will be felt by the entire city as well as neighboring departments.

As we all process and grieve over this news, please remember to look after yourselves. If you're struggling, please reach out to someone and let them know you're not okay. We are all in this together.

The smoke from the fires in Ontario and Minnesota arrived here just before 5pm. The Communication Center (911) has taken many calls about the smoke, and resources have been dispatched for the smell of smoke.
From the reports we've received it may be a few days before the smoke dissipates.
Please be vigilant if you have any breathing issues.
