🌿📚 Thank You for Joining Us at Read OUT LOUD! in Nature! 📚🌿

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Beaver Creek Reserve last Saturday for our Read OUT LOUD! in Nature event! We loved spending the morning exploring, reading, learning, and connecting with families in such a beautiful outdoor setting.

From birding and nature walks to stories and hands-on activities, it was a wonderful reminder of how much learning and joy can happen when we read, play, and explore together.

We are grateful to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success.

🇺🇸📚 Mark your calendars for our next Read OUT LOUD! on Saturday, July 4, from 9:00–11:00 AM at Carson Park in Eau Claire! Join us for a special community celebration of reading featuring The Little Engine That Could, read by Wesley McDermott.

Families can take photos with their favorite books and "Dolly" to celebrate the magic of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, enjoy a FREE ride on the Carson Park train, and pick up a FREE American flag. We hope to see you there!

As parents and caregivers, we all want to protect our children. 💛 But sometimes one of the best things we can do for their growth is to let them try, explore, climb, fall, and try again.

This article shares an important reminder that healthy, age-appropriate risk taking helps children build:
✨ Confidence
✨ Independence
✨ Problem-solving skills
✨ Emotional resilience

Whether it’s climbing a tree, riding bikes with friends, or trying something new on their own, children learn so much when we give them opportunities to discover what they’re capable of.

It also talks about the balance between keeping children safe and avoiding “helicopter parenting,” which can sometimes unintentionally increase anxiety and self-doubt in kids.

Parenting is full of tough decisions, and there’s no perfect formula. But giving children space to grow, while supporting them along the way, can make a huge difference in their mental health and well-being.

This Memorial Day, the Family Resource Center honors and remembers the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. ❤️🤍💙

As families gather this weekend for cookouts, parades, and time together, we also pause to reflect on the sacrifices made for the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We wish all of our families a safe and meaningful Memorial Day weekend filled with connection, gratitude, and moments together. 🇺🇸
