Veterans are invited to join an upcoming trip to The Highground Veterans Memorial Park near Neillsville, Wisconsin, on August 6. The Highground began in 1984 as the Wisconsin Vietnam Veterans Memorial Project and is now considered the largest staffed veterans memorial park in the nation.

📅 Thursday, August 6, 2026

🚌 Bus leaves the St. Croix County Services Center in New Richmond at 8 am and returns at approximately 4:30 pm.

✅ Free for St. Croix County veterans.

🍽 Lunch is provided.

👟 Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes.

Are you a veteran who is planning to visit our state parks in Wisconsin this year? Our partners at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources offer benefits and privileges to military service members and veterans for recreation-related activities, including park admission, hunting, fishing, and professional licensing. Special privileges and licenses are available to Purple Heart veterans as well. This is a wonderful benefit for all Wisconsin veterans who enjoy the outdoors!
