Fall Is Here, Y’all! 🍂😊

There’s something special about fall. The return of football, kids heading back to school, crisp mornings, changing leaves, and the arrival of apple and pumpkin season. It’s a time when routines return, schedules settle in, and there’s a comforting rhythm to the season. And here at The Community Table, we’re ready for it!

This summer has been an incredible one at TCT. We welcomed many guests and participated in numerous community events, including a milestone we haven’t seen since COVID: 153 meals served in a single day! As the number of guests we serve continues to grow, we are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our community. Food donations continue to keep our shelves and kitchen stocked, while our amazing volunteers help us receive donations, prepare meals, serve our guests, and keep everything moving.

Thanks to the generosity of our community partners, donors, and neighbors, we are on track to surpass the 240,000+ pounds of food donated last year. That is an incredible testament to what can happen when a community comes together to care for one another. 💙

And now, we’re turning our attention to one of our favorite events of the year, our 8th Annual Dessert Extravaganza, happening Saturday, September 19, at The Brewing Projekt! This year’s event has been upgraded and is fully ticketed, featuring local dessert bakers, raffle baskets, a cash bar, a spinning wheel, and a specially curated music lineup. If you’re looking for a fun night out where you can mingle, enjoy some incredible desserts, and support a great cause, we hope you’ll join us!

We’re also excited to welcome new board members and our fall intern, Sydney, to the TCT family. And, as we look back on the busy summer, we want to give a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer, partner, donor, and community member who stepped up and helped us along the way.

It truly takes a village, and we are so grateful to have the best village around. ❤️

Our guests have been enjoying a steady trickle of fresh, homegrown fruits and vegetables, both in meals and on our Produce Cart. Thank you to all the Home and Community Gardeners who have donated to help our mission 🍅🥕🍎🤗

If you have extra fruits and vegetables from your own Home or Community Garden, please consider donating them to The Community Table. We use them in a variety of meals and desserts, and also leave some out for guests to take along with a regularly-rotating stock of goodies from our Snack Table

Thank you to Eau Claire Transit for providing us with this handy guide for getting to The Community Table using the bus system. From the transfer center, take Route #3 (North High) to Wisconsin & Putnam Sts. To get back to the transfer center, catch the #3 at Putnam on its way back downtown

Don't forget that we have FREE bus passes available at TCT for getting to and from our meal services. Just ask at the front desk by the main entrance and we will provide you with up to (2) bus passes. One to get home and one to get back to us for another meal service

Please join us in welcoming Pat Sturz to our esteemed Board of Directors! Pat will be serving in the role of Treasurer

Pat Sturz is a retired tax professional and business strategist who combined financial acumen, operational experience, and practical solutions to assist small businesses.

As a Principal at CLA, Pat directed the tax practice for the Western Wisconsin offices for more than two decades leading a team of 40-50 professionals.

Before pursuing an accounting career, Pat spent 10 years as an owner/operator of a 240-acre dairy and grain farm in Eau Claire County.
