🚨 STORM & STATE OF EMERGENCY UPDATE 9/5/2026

Westmont Borough and Lower Yoder Township remain under a State of Emergency.

The West Hills Regional Fire Department has been working tirelessly to clear hazards, restore roadways, and allow other essential service providers to safely operate.

Unfortunately, we do not currently have an estimated time for when power will be restored. Fire and Emergency Management officials will be working throughout the West Hills coverage area conducting damage assessments and addressing storm-related needs.

Since the start of Thursday night’s storm, the West Hills Regional Fire Department has been dispatched to and handled approximately 130 incidents. That number continues to rise as we receive additional storm-related calls.

We are incredibly thankful for our firefighters who have sacrificed their time and effort to serve and protect our community throughout this difficult situation.

We also want to thank everyone who has donated supplies, food, and water to the fire department over the past several days. Your generosity has not gone unnoticed.

🛑 At this time, we do NOT need any additional supplies or food.
💧 We will, however, gladly accept donations of bottled water to help keep our crews hydrated while they continue working.

Please continue to remain patient, avoid unnecessary travel, and allow emergency crews and utility providers the time and space they need to work safely.

📢 A notification will be issued once the State of Emergency has been lifted.

We are experiencing a high volume of calls. Please be patient as within a five minute span we've taken well over six hundred calls. We assure you that all of your departments are staffing their stations and are trying their best to get to every location. Utilities are being notified and we have no eta as they are also operating in storm mode. Stay indoors and stay safe, do not travel unless you have to! Thank you!

Congratulations to the Blue Platoon on winning one of our latest team building contests! The objective was to create a shield that best represents the entire platoon, they all were fantastic! The winners recieved a nacho bar lunch compliments of our QA Supervisor. It's nice to have our hardworking team enjoy a little fun project now and then. Thank you!
