What a fun morning! Thanks to everyone who came out to Touch A Truck at EVFD this morning. And thank you to all of our community partners who brought vehicles for the kids to enjoy!

Holy fire truck Batman! A few of us had the opportunity to visit the Raleigh Fire Expo today and it was impressive! We got to visit with some vendors and see some pretty cool equipment. PS, if someone knows the person that won the $1B in the lotto, tell them we would like to hold a few million for them!!

No matter what the emergency may be, Company 8 is ready to respond! At 12:45 a.m. this morning Company 8 was dispatched to a carbon monoxide alarm on Pigeon Path. Upon arrival, we verified that everyone was out of the home and performed a gas detection sweep. Ultimately it was determined that the detector was faulty. The occupants apologized for the late night call but we assured them that we are available at any time...no questions asked. It also turned out that one of the young ladies at the home was celebrating a birthday and asked for a picture. Of course we obliged.

Had the opportunity to join some other departments at the National Night Out event at the Brunswick airport Tuesday night. There was a good community turnout but the rain cut things a little short. Hope to see everyone Aug. 15 at the fire department for our Touch the Truck event.

After a short "summer break", BINGO is back at EVFD! We hope to see you and your family on August 1st for some delicious food from our full concession stand, chances to win some money, and community fun.
