Time to mark your calendars and get your orders in because July 4th weekend will be here before you know it! We don't want you to stress about your cookout menu, so let EVFD handle it for you.

A few important details for our 2026 Independence Day Cook
📍Pick up will be at EVFD (497 Robinson Ferry Rd) this year! Drive-through style!
🇺🇸 A "lunch" option will be available inside our "meeting hall", where you can either take it to go or eat in. This will include a BBQ sandwich, chips, and a drink for ONLY $8.
🦅 Preorders are ENCOURAGED. This is our largest cook of the year, and people are serious about their BBQ. A limited number of walk-up orders will be available starting at 1 PM.
🗽 Rib prices are subject to change depending on the size of the racks we can obtain.

Thanks to our wonderful community, we had a great BBQ and Rib cook today! Sold everything we had prepared! Our next cook will be July 4 so stay tuned for details.
Most importantly we remember all of the hero's that sacrificed everything to allow us to be free and enjoy this great country that we live in! Enjoy your weekend, be safe and God Bless America!

BBQ cook has been fantastic! We decided to cook a little extra. We have 20 5lb pans, a couple of single lb pans and about 15 ribs available. Come and get it! First come first serve.

This afternoon at approximately 4:45 p.m. Company 8 was dispatched to the west end of Alvis Rd. For a brush fire. Upon arrival a large debris pile was found with large flames. It was determined that this fire was considered a controlled burn by the land owner but the County is still under a burn ban. Crews extinguished the fire and returned to the station. Brush 8, Engine 8 and Tanker 8 responded. Also responding were Brodnax Volunteer Fire Department and Brunswick Couny Sherriffs Deputies.

Sunday evening at 10:02 p.m. Company 8 was dispatched to the intersection of Robinson Ferry Rd and Dry Bread Rd. for a two vehicle MVC. Upon arrival it was determined that there were no injuries and only property damage. Please be sure to check both ways multiple times at this intersection. We have responded to a number of MVC's there in recent months.
