🚫🔥 Burn Ban in Effect – Washington County 🔥🚫

The Washington County Board of County Commissioners has enacted a countywide burn ban, effective immediately.

No outdoor burning of any kind is allowed at this time.

Our current conditions make fires easier to start and much harder to control. This burn ban is in place to help protect lives, property, and our community.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in keeping Washington County safe.

🚒🔥 Red Flag Warning – Today is NOT the Day to Burn 🔥🚒

We are under a Red Flag Warning for critical fire danger conditions.

What that means in plain terms:
➡️ Winds gusting 25–30 mph
➡️ Very low humidity (dry air)
➡️ Warm temperatures
➡️ Dry, drought-stressed vegetation

Put it all together and you get this: any fire that starts today will spread FAST and get out of control QUICK.

🚫 Outdoor burning is strongly discouraged.
(Yes… even that “small pile” you’ve been meaning to take care of.)

We know, y’all are responsible and careful. But days like today don’t care how careful you are. Fire will win.

🚨 Help us keep our crews available and our community safe.

Stay safe and remember, when in doubt… don’t burn it out.

Effective immediately, all outdoor burning is prohibited until further notice. Even a small spark can ignite a fast-moving wildfire under current conditions.
