๐Ÿ“š A Friendly Reminder About Book Donations ๐Ÿ“š

First, thank you to everyone who thinks of the Eclectic Public Library when donating books. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and many of the books we receive find new homes with members of our community.

๐Ÿ›‘๐Ÿ“ธThe books shown in these photos were part of a recent donation. Unfortunately, they were left outside and are beyond repair. Because they have been exposed to the weather/elements/age they are no longer in usable condition, they will have to be recycled rather than shared with other readers.๐Ÿ“ธ๐Ÿ›‘

To help us protect our collection and future donations, we ask that books be:
โœ”๏ธ Clean and dry
โœ”๏ธ Free of mold or mildew
โœ”๏ธ Free of excessive writing, coloring, or crayon marks
โœ”๏ธ In good, readable condition

Books that have mold, water damage, insect damage, or excessive wear can affect other donated books and library materials, so we are unable to accept them.

Please do NOT leave donations outside the library. Alabama heat, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight can quickly damage booksโ€”even in a short amount of time.

We gladly accept donations inside the library during our open hours:
๐Ÿ“š Monday
๐Ÿ“š Tuesday
๐Ÿ“š Thursday
๐Ÿ“š Saturday

Thank you for helping us keep donated books in the best possible condition so they can continue to be enjoyed by readers throughout our community. Your support truly makes a difference! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ“–

๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ† Celebrating Our Summer Readers! ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ“š

As our 2026 Summer Reading Program comes to a close, we want to recognize the amazing young readers who participated this year!

Throughout the summer, children tracked their reading on reading logs, and readers were recognized by grade level for their hard work and dedication. We were thrilled to present awards and prizes to our Outstanding Readers, while also celebrating all of the participants who spent their summer discovering new books and adventures through reading.

๐Ÿ•A huge thank you to D & R KWIK STOP for generously donating the pizzas for our end-of-summer reading program volunteer appreciation party!

Our summer program would not have been possible without the many volunteers, helpers, supporters, and community partners who gave their time and talents throughout June. This photo doesn't even include everyone who helpedโ€”we were blessed with an incredible group this year! ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽ‰ What a Fantastic Finale! ๐Ÿฆ–๐Ÿ“š

Today marked the final program of the 2026 Eclectic Public Library Summer Reading Program, and we wrapped up the summer in a big way!

We were thrilled to welcome the Anniston Museum of Natural History, who brought an incredible hands-on presentation about fossils, prehistoric life, and the fascinating world of natural history. The children had the opportunity to learn about real fossils, ask questions, and even meet a few live creatures that accompanied the presentation!

A huge thank you to all of our presenters, volunteers, sponsors, parents, and especially the children who joined us each week. Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and love of learning made this summer a tremendous success.

We are grateful for another wonderful Summer Reading Program and look forward to seeing everyone at future library events. Until next summer, keep reading, keep exploring, and keep discovering new adventures through books!
