Looks like the Easter Bunny stopped by early and left us a gift out front of the station. As much as we appreciate it, it’s not quite our size. Anyone missing a bike?

🚨 BOROUGH OF EDDYSTONE – EMERGENCY DECLARATION 🚨

A Message from Mayor Ronald Hughes and Emergency Management Coordinator, Chief Mokshefsky

Mayor Ronald Hughes has issued an Emergency Declaration for Winter Storm Hernando due to expected hazardous winter weather, including heavy snowfall and blizzard like conditions.
The Borough encourages all Eddystone residents and businesses to be as prepared as possible. This is expected to be a significant winter storm, and safety remains our top priority.

BOROUGH IMPACTS & CLOSURES
• Borough Offices will be CLOSED Monday
• NO trash collection on Monday
➝ Regular trash collection will resume Thursday
• All Lighthouse Hall events are canceled for Sunday, February 22

STORM PREPAREDNESS & SAFETY REMINDERS
Residents are encouraged to take the following steps to prepare and remain safe:
• Have shovels and vehicle ice scrapers ready
• Ensure flashlights, portable radios, batteries, and phones/portable chargers are fully charged
• Maintain emergency supplies (recommended: a three-day supply of food, water, medications, and pet food)
• Please allow Public Works plows to operate safely and effectively
• Stay off roadways unless absolutely necessary
• Park vehicles as close to the curb as possible; if you have a driveway, please use it
• Do NOT shovel snow back into the street — place snow in your yard
• Shovel out fire hydrants in front of your property
• No saving parking spaces
• Secure all loose outdoor items
• Do not leave pets outside for extended periods
• Check on neighbors, especially the elderly or those with mobility concerns
• We do NOT recommend using kerosene heaters indoors

BOROUGH OPERATIONS
The Eddystone Public Works / Highway Team is prepared and ready for this storm. While temperatures are expected to rise in the days following the storm and allow for natural snow melt, crews will continue to monitor conditions and address priority areas as needed.

Please understand this may be a prolonged event. Emergency Management and Public Works personnel remain committed to providing essential services during this time.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION

• Always CALL 911 first for emergencies
• In extreme situations where a majority of Eddystone is without power, Joe Hughes Hall may be opened. Details will be announced if needed.

Thank you for your cooperation. Please stay safe and look out for one another.

We would like to congratulate Officer Chase Smith, Officer Mark Clark, and Officer Matthew Smith on receiving Letters of Commendation.

Officer Clark and Officer Chase Smith apprehended a armed robbery suspect who fled on foot into the City of Chester. Their teamwork and determination led to a successful apprehension.

Officer Matthew Smith received a Letter of Commendation for his heroic actions while evacuating residents from a working building fire, ensuring their safety during a dangerous and rapidly evolving situation.

Their actions are a direct reflection of what we strive to be here in Eddystone. We are grateful for the work they do and proud of the officers they continue to prove themselves to be.

This dog was brought in this morning after being found wandering around the Walmart. He is safe with us, enjoying his new accommodations, and pretending he runs the station.

He won’t give us his name, but he did demand a lawyer and a cheeseburger.

Do you recognize him?
