This evening the Eddystone Police Were alerted to a subject with a firearm in the area of 9th & Saville Avenue. After several minutes the subject surrendered to Police without incident. There is no danger to the community at this time. The incident is currently being investigated by the police department.

This morning the Eddystone Police Department with assisting law enforcement agencies conducted a high risk search warrant in the 1100 block of 11th Street. The search warrant was executed without incident.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest part-time police officer, Officer Austin Whittington.

Officer Whittington is a recent graduate of the Delaware County Municipal Police Academy, and we are grateful that he chose the Eddystone Police Department as the start of his law enforcement career.

He will begin our Field Training Program under the guidance of Officer Clark as he prepares to serve the residents of Eddystone with professionalism, integrity, and pride.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Whittington to the Eddystone Police Department. We wish him a safe and successful career!

The Eddystone Police Department is investigating an assault that occurred at East 9th Street and Ashland Avenue around 3:00PM. The situation is under control, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
