𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 (𝗔𝘂𝗴. 𝟭𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲) – A KYTC contractor is planning a work zone lane restriction along KY 373 between U.S. 62 and KY 1943 (mile points 0 to 3.6) in Lyon County, starting Thursday, Aug. 13.

Milling on Thursday and Friday.
Paving starts Monday, Aug. 17, and is expected to take about 3 days, weather permitting.
Be alert for signage and flaggers. Use caution.

Due to the excessive heat expected tomorrow, we are making the following changes to our athletic schedule out of an abundance of caution for the safety of our student-athletes:

All middle school outdoor athletic events are canceled for tomorrow.

High School athletic events will be varsity-only contests beginning at 7:00 PM.

We made the decision not to have our middle school athletes begin competition at 7:00 PM, which could result in our younger athletes arriving home late before having school the following morning. It is also important to remember that our middle school athletic programs include students as young as 5th grade, and we recognize the additional strain that extreme heat can place on our younger student-athletes.

We will always error on the side of caution when it comes to the health and safety of our student-athletes. Their well-being will always be our top priority.

Our high school varsity soccer contests scheduled for 7:00 PM will continue to follow all KHSAA Heat Safety Guidelines. If conditions are not safe for activity to begin at 7:00 PM, the start of the contest will be delayed until it is safe to play. Mandatory water breaks will also be incorporated throughout the contests.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to keep our athletes, coaches, officials, and fans safe during these extreme weather conditions.
