This Memorial Day we remember those who paid the ultimate price in defense of our country. It has been 17 years since St. Louis Park Police Officer David Day was killed by an improvised explosive device while helping his fellow injured soldiers during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

David was a Staff Sergeant for the 1st Battalion, 151st Field Artillery, 34th Infantry Division, Minnesota Army National Guard. At the young age of 25, David showed us that freedom comes at a price. Today, we remember those who served our country and honor those who didn’t make it home.
