🚑 FREE STOP THE BLEED® TRAINING 🚑

The Eden Emergency Squad is proud to offer FREE Stop the Bleed training to the general public on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 6:00 PM.

This hands-on course teaches lifesaving techniques that can help control severe bleeding during an emergency before professional responders arrive. Participants will learn how to recognize life-threatening bleeding, apply direct pressure, pack wounds, and properly use a tourniquet.

This training is open to everyone and is highly recommended for: • Students • Parents and grandparents • Babysitters • Coaches • Teachers • Workplace employees • Community members

In a bleeding emergency, the actions taken in the first few minutes can save a life. Be prepared to make a difference when it matters most.

As the weather starts to get warmer, it's important to remember that extreme heat can quickly become dangerous—especially for our elderly neighbors, disabled individuals, veterans, young children, and pets.

A simple phone call, text message, or knock on the door could make all the difference. Check in on family, friends, and neighbors to make sure they have air conditioning or fans, plenty of water, access to medications, a cool place to rest, and transportation if assistance is needed.

Never leave pets outside without shade and fresh water, and never leave children or animals unattended in a vehicle—even for a short time.

During periods of extreme heat, cooling locations such as Town Hall, libraries, grocery stores, and other public facilities may be available.

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and look out for one another.

🚨 Did You Know? 🚨

The color of emergency vehicle lights can tell you who is responding to an emergency in the Town of Eden.

🟢 Green Lights – Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel responding to assist the ambulance.

🔵 Blue Lights – Volunteer firefighters responding to the fire hall or directly to an emergency scene.

🔴⚪ Red and White Lights – Authorized emergency vehicles, including ambulances, fire apparatus, and police vehicles actively responding to emergencies.

When you see emergency lights, please stay alert, slow down, and give responders the room they need to safely reach those in need. Every second counts during an emergency.

🚑❤️ National CPR & AED Awareness Week | June 1st – June 7th ❤️🚑

This week is National CPR & AED Awareness Week, a time to recognize the lifesaving impact that everyday people can have during a cardiac emergency.

When someone experiences sudden cardiac arrest, immediate CPR can double or even triple their chance of survival. The actions taken in the first few minutes before emergency responders arrive can make all the difference.

The Eden Emergency Squad encourages everyone to learn the basics of CPR and how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). These simple skills can help save the life of a family member, friend, coworker, or neighbor.

Did you know? Eden Emergency Squad offers CPR and AED training for any town resident interested in becoming prepared for an emergency. Whether you're looking to gain lifesaving knowledge for your family, workplace, or community, we're here to help.

This Memorial Day, Eden Emergency Squad remembers and honors the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day and remember those who gave everything for our freedom.

From all of us at Eden Emergency Squad, thank you to our fallen heroes and their families for their sacrifice and service. 🇺🇸

Just because it was EMS Week doesn’t mean the training stops. Last Thursday, our crew simulated a patient trapped underneath a vehicle. Using different rescue techniques and safety procedures, we successfully removed our rescue manikin, Randy, while also practicing glass management and door removal skills.

Training like this helps prepare our members for real emergencies and keeps our team ready to serve the community when seconds matter most.

If rescue operations interest you, but you’re not looking to become an EMT, the Eden Emergency Squad does offer Rescue Only positions. It’s a great way to get involved, learn new skills, and make a difference in your community.
