For those of you who are in EMT class or anyone who's looking to supplement/ refresh some basic training, as we sit idle during these times, I'd suggest checking out EMSNation.org. Its based in NY, developed by a few medical directors, so its inline with our state protocols and is up to date, with the following posted from their site:
* EMS Nation is a podcast for pre-hospital providers that integrates cutting edge evidence-based medicine as well as best practice in emergency medical services. Whether you're an EMT, Paramedic, Critical Care provider or even an EMS Medical Director - you will find content and a community that stimulates thought provoking conversation. We aim to provide nuanced points in resuscitation and resource limited medicine, that will not only improve your patient care but also hopefully your patient outcomes especially at the systems level. I highly recommend checking it out and consider adding it to your bookmarks as a free resource. Just need to provide an email, in order to get notifications for podcasts & updates.
I want to thank you all who responded earlier today for mom that had fallen. I know it’s your job but you all were so kind and wonderful easing my moms mind. Thank you so much for everything you do for our community. ❤️❤️
Just wanted to say Thank you to the EMT’s for coming to our aid on Thursday January 31 at the Shurfine! We are grateful for your service and care of my husband.
Bless you all
Great job on the 50th annual installation dinner Kate Wastl !
You guys have come to my house a few times for my husband over the last couple years and I just want to sincerely thank you for always taking such great care of him and making him comfortable. You were just here recently but the time I really need to thank you for is a couple months ago he had 6 seizures within 4-5 hours and you responded quickly and were amazing at working to get them under control by the time we got to the hospital. You allowed me to not only ride along but to help calm him down when he began to put up a little fight because he didn't know where he was or who you were. I have family in the squad in North Collins and know the tough job you have and just want you to know how appreciated you all are for everything you do and for having some of the best bedside manner and professionalism along with knowing how to cheer people up and calm patients and their family members down. My husband expresses gratitude every time we need you and even when we don't. Keep up the great work and thank you for your dedication to our community!!
On Tuesday 9/12, very early morning- 12am. I called 911 for a 4 year old having raspy breathing. It seemed like only moments passed before help arrived, the guys who arrived were so kind and so caring to my little one. Unfortunately she's so used to trips to the ER or ambulance rides that she was not concerned at all.😄 As a mom thought I always mildly freak out. I truly cannot say enough for how wonderful they are.
PS. You were correct. It was croup 😰
