Rockingham County Public Libraries will be starting another Food for Fines campaign tomorrow that will last from September 1 until September 30. Bring nonperishable food items to your local Rockingham County Public Library and we'll take off $2 for each food item you bring. The food must be unexpired and in good condition. Food donated to the Eden Library will go to either the library community food bank or to the Eden Salvation Army. During this time we will also be accepting food from people who don't have fines but would like to donate.

The Talent Show that was originally scheduled for 1:30 p.m. this afternoon has been cancelled.

However, we are still holding our DIY Craft program at 4 p.m. Make something from a recent craft program or put together something totally new! We will be setting out several art supplies during our DIY hour this afternoon. No sign up is required. Just join us for an hour of crafting fun. What will you make?

We had some very creative artwork produced at the Button Painting Craft this week.

If you missed the craft and would like to try it out. Join us for our DIY craft on Tuesday August 11th, @ 4 p.m.

We still have left over canvas, buttons, washi tape and acrylic paint markers. We'll also be pulling out supplies from past crafts like our keychain craft and earrings craft.

Join us for Week 7 of our Library Summer Reading Programs tomorrow at the Eden Library at 10:30 for Preschoolers, 11:15 for Toddlers and 2:30 p.m. for School Aged Kids.

Remember to bring your reading log with you if you've reached your 1,000 minute goal. If you've lost your reading log, you can download the READSquared App and record your minutes through the app. If you bring in your reading log or show us that you've completed the challenges through the READSquared app you can pick up a free book, a prize from the Treasure Chest and play the Claw Machine for another special prize.

This September the Eden Library will be celebrating 50 years at our current location. Help us celebrate the library by bringing pictures of yourself, family members and/or friends that were taken at the library over the last 50 years. We plan on making copies of the pictures and hanging them up in the hallway during the months of August and September.
