Library Lines by Tanya Garcia Did you know that The Eden Public Library can put you in touch with a variety of local social services? This includes Legal Aid which can connect you with qualified professionals for all types of legal situations such as (auto accidents, adoption, bankruptcy, name change, child custody, child support, civil rights, divorce, disability) etc. Concho Valley Community Action Agency was on hand offering assistance with utilities, weatherization mortgage/rent, veteran services etc. Concho Valley Transit was on hand offering transportation services by bus. Did you know this service is free? WIC was on hand with their mobile unit. WIC is for pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum women, infants and families with children under 5, they are willing to come out and provide these services locally, so our community doesn’t have to travel to San Angelo for this service. WIC provides healthy foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding education, support and referrals to other services you and your family need. Texas Health and Human Services were available to provide help with SNAP, TANF, health coverage, medicaid, CHIP, and aging and disability services. West Texas Rehab was available; did you know they offer free bereavement services? Angels Care Home Health was in the house. Angels Care Home Health offers behavioral health services. Angels Care Home Health is in search of home health caregivers in our area. I was shocked when she told me caregivers in our area are in high demand. If you are looking for a job, call the library and I can put you in touch. Family Shelter of San Angelo was here, they are available 24 hours a day 365 days per year, providing a safe haven. If you are in need, call the family shelter at 325-655-5774. If you need any of these services, you can contact the library, and we can put you in touch with the right organization. We are also planning to have this event, maybe once a month if there is a need. So, if you know someone who might be in need, spread the word! See you soon!
