IMPORTANT NOTICE TO DRAPER FIRE DISTRICT RESIDENTS
Earlier this year, the Draper Volunteer Fire Department underwent an evaluation through the Insurance Services Office (ISO) Public Protection Classification program.
We are extremely proud to announce that the Draper Volunteer Fire Department has received an ISO Class 4 rating, effective December 1, 2026.
The ISO Public Protection Classification program evaluates communities based on the effectiveness of their fire protection capabilities. Classifications range from Class 1 (best) to Class 10.
Achieving a Class 4 is a significant accomplishment and reflects the continued dedication and hard work of the men and women of the Draper Volunteer Fire Department.
The evaluation considers several important components of fire protection, including: The effectiveness of 911 system, the availability and adequacy of fire hydrants and other water sources used during firefighting operations, staffing, training, apparatus, equipment, the department’s ability to provide effective emergency response, fire prevention, public education, and pre-incident planning.
This rating is about much more than a number.
It represents thousands of hours of training, emergency responses, equipment maintenance, fire prevention activities, community education, planning, and preparation that take place throughout the year.
Most importantly, it represents the dedication of our volunteer firefighters.
These men and women willingly give their time to leave their families, jobs, and personal lives to answer calls, train, maintain equipment, attend meetings, and prepare to protect their neighbors when they are needed most.
This achievement belongs to them.
We would also like to thank our community, the families of our members, county administration, the Rockingham County Fire Marshals office, our mutual aid departments, and our state representatives for their continued support.
