Today, on International Firefighters’ Day, we’re giving a huge shoutout to the volunteers who answer the call—day or night, rain or shine, holidays, family dinners, and everything in between. 🚒❤️

Thank you to every firefighter who trades sleep for sirens, comfort for courage, and “normal plans” for serving others. We’re proud of our crew today and every day.

👏 On March 21, we held our Installation Dinner where our 2026 Social & Firematic Officers were officially sworn in.
Congratulations to all of our new officers—we’re fired up for the year ahead! 🔥

Huge thank you to East Eden Fire Company for covering our district so we could enjoy a night off and a full meal without having to leave halfway through. 🍽️

🚨Saturday 4/18/26 was a busy day for the Eden Fire Department!

🚒The morning started with a standby for Recruit NY as we continue to look for motivated individuals to join our family! While on standby our crew moved all of the equipment off of our old tanker to our new Four Guys 2000 gallon tanker. It replaces our 1991 Tanker and increases our capabilities as it has a 1000 gpm pump on board.

🚗Our engine #1 was supporting the newest recruits including one of our own at Boston as they were training on car fires.

🧑‍🚒4 interior firefighters were attending F.A.S.T. class hosted by Newton Abbott Fire Department. A FAST team (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) is a specialized unit of firefighters dedicated solely to rescuing other firefighters in distress at emergency scenes.

🔥At 12:23 pm Eden Fire was requested mutual aid to North Collins for a commercial structure fire on Eagle Dr. Eden Engine #2 responded with a full crew and assisted with interior operations.

***UPDATE*** National Grid crews are on location and beginning work. This will be a long term outage with still no ETA for power to be restored to all those affected.

Eden Firefighters are currently on location of a tree and power lines down across Schoolview Rd. Schoolview will be closed from the GLP school to Weller Rd.

Power is out in the area with no ETA for restoration yet.

🚨 We’re sounding the alarm… but not for a fire. 🚨

This Saturday 4/18 from 9AM–Noon, Eden Volunteer Fire Department is participating in RecruitNY! We can’t promise you’ll slide down a pole… but we can promise sirens, trucks, gear, and a pretty awesome group of people. Come for a hot dog, stay because you accidentally signed up to be a hero. 😎

Eden firefighters and numerous mutual aid companies are on scene of a large commercial structure fire on Southwestern Blvd in town. Rt 20 will be closed for the foreseeable future between Town Line Rd and Shadagee Rd.

Please avoid the area while crews are still responding and working to bring the fire under control.

Notice of New York Statewide (March 16 - May 14, 2026): Prohibited Activities and Exceptions.

During this period, the burning of lawn debris, grass, tree limbs, and building materials is strictly forbidden.

However, exceptions are granted for recreational fires, provided they utilize only charcoal or dry, clean, untreated, and unpainted wood.

Permitted recreational fires include: campfires, small cooking fires, or any other outdoor fire less than 3 feet in height and 4 feet in length, width, or diameter; ceremonial or celebratory bonfires, including the disposal of flags or religious items, if not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.
