The Town of Edenton Electric Department had a great day out in the community.

Our crew enjoyed visiting White Oak Elementary School for Vehicle Day, where students got an up-close look at our trucks and learned how we help keep the lights on every day. We also had the opportunity to speak with students at D.F. Walker Elementary School for Career Day, sharing what it’s like to work in the electric field and the importance of safety.

Thank you to both schools for having us. We appreciate the opportunity to connect with our future leaders.

Today is North Carolina Lineworker Appreciation Day, and we want to take a minute to say thank you to our hometown heroes at Edenton Electric.

These guys show up no matter the weather, the time of day, or the situation. Whether it’s storm restoration, late-night outages, or everyday maintenance, they’re always ready to get the job done and keep the power on for our community.

A lot of what they do goes unseen, but it makes a difference every single day. We’re proud of the work they do and grateful for the commitment they have to Edenton.

If you see one of our linemen today, take a moment to thank them.

April is National Safe Digging Month

Before starting any digging project, remember to call 811. It’s an easy step that helps protect you, your property, and our community.

Underground utility lines, including electric, water, gas, and communication lines, are often closer to the surface than you might think. Striking one can cause outages, costly repairs, or even serious injury.

By calling 811 before you dig, utility crews can mark the location of underground lines so you can work safely.
