New Sewer Rates

At its August 4 meeting and public hearing, the Select Board approved new sewer rates for 2026, effective August 5. They are lower than the earlier proposal. They are:
Monthly Minimum: $49.92 (same as 2024),
Each Additional 100 cu ft over 300: $16.55 (same as 2024),
Connection Fee: $352.20 (increase of $34.20),
Impact Fee per gallon of design flow: $7.59 (increase of $0.74).

Select Board Vacancy

At its July 21 meeting, the Edgecomb Select Board accepted the resignation of member George Chase, effective immediately. A vote to fill the vacancy will be held November 3. Nomination papers for candidates are available from Tuesday, August 4 to Thursday, September 3 at 5 PM, at the Town Clerk’s Office (open Tuesdays 1-6 PM and Thursdays 1-5 PM), or an appointment may be made by calling the Town Clerk at 350-0963. Papers must be returned to the Clerk by September 3 at 5 PM. Emergency Select Board Meeting July 27

The Select Board will hold an emergency meeting on Monday July 27th at 6:00 pm at the Town Hall to join the greater community by signing a letter in support of maintaining Miles Memorial Maternity Ward.

Fort Edgecomb Open House August 9

Sunday, August 9th, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the Edgecomb Historical Society is hosting an Open House at Fort Edgecomb. Bring a picnic, join your friends and neighbors at the Fort!

The Town Hall has a Drop Box!

We now have a secure drop box at the Town Hall. Use it to submit tax payments, questionnaires, or any other correspondence with town officials. It is located to the right of the front outside door. Don’t confuse it with the ballot box to the left! Of course, the town still accepts correspondence by mail, e-mail, or in person.

Tax Collector’s Office Closed First Two Weeks in August

The Tax Collector’s office will be closed during the first two weeks of August, that is, August 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, and 13. The town hall will be open for business with the Town Clerk-Treasurer-Registrar on August 4, 6, 11, and 13, and also for meetings. Tax payments can be made with the town clerk or left in the drop box. Vehicle/Trailer and Boat registration renewals may be completed online. The only transactions that cannot be completed those two weeks are NEW registrations, so please plan accordingly.
