Every year in May, National Police Week serves as an important reminder of the bravery and dedication of law enforcement officers across the country. Established to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, this week is a time for reflection, respect, and remembrance. It allows us to pay tribute to fallen officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, acknowledging their courage and commitment to safeguarding our communities.

The Edgefield County Sheriff's Office remembers our fallen heroes today, National Peace Officers Memorial Day, and every day. These brave men gave their all to make Edgefield County a safer place to live.

Yesterday evening the Sheriff's Office hosted it's annual 11th Circuit South Carolina Law Enforcement Network meeting at Old McDonald Fish Camp. After a great meal, law enforcement officers from all over the network joined together performing three productive safety checkpoints throughout our county.

We would like to thank all he agencies that attended and we are looking forward to next year!

Please help us locate Seleste Briannia Lomax, who walked off from 1290 Long Cane Rd., Johnston, SC on April 27, 2026.

Seleste is described as highly functioning autistic, and her family is very concerned about her safety.

Yellow bell-bottom pants with white lines
Black Slide Shoes

She may be disoriented or in need of assistance.
