Jo-Nathan Foundation The Jo-Nathan Foundation was established in memory of Jonathan Devontae Simpkins. He was a 1995 graduate of Strom Thurmond Highschool.

The Jo-Nathan Foundation (TJF) mission is to inspire youth ages 12-17 by providing opportunities to attend summer camps and other educational activities via tuition or fee sponsorship. Jonathan was born as the second/middle son of Jackie and Walter Simpkins, both natives of Edgefield, SC. Before his untimely death on September 18, 1998, Jonathan was one year from completing his degree in Electric

al Engineering at South Carolina State University. At an early age, Jonathan (Jo-Nathan) Devontae Simpkins was constantly focusing on self improvement and always possessed an unselfish heart towards all people. This foundation aims to allow Jo-Nathan's name to live on by providing the opportunity for interested youth to receive Experiences, Exposure, and Education that will inspire them to do something positive in life. Whether it is a camp focused on science, SAT preparation, cheerleading, art, or whatever interests the qualified child, The Jo-Nathan Foundation is committed to making the opportunity a reality.
