Recently, I've had the pleasure or displeasure of running into several of those "NRA Type" instructors that rely solely on said certifications. While being a certified instructor is a good thing, the issue is the common factor that connects all low skill shooters and instructors. Lack of continued education still plagues the fi****ms industry. Accountability is important, even more so if you teach people a perishable skill that could either save someone's life, or get them killed.
Let's touch on the low skill part of the industry. We've all seen the female agents from the Secret Service look like complete fools when the bullets started to fly. Once again, this reenforces the uncomfortable truth that "You won't rise to the occasion. You'll fall to your lowest level of training".
After repeated interactions with federal, state, and local law enforcement, I've found this to be the one common denominator in each level of fi****ms training.
At this point, anyone who thinks the cops are coming to save them, will be the reason their family dies. It's important to understand, that as Americans, you have a moral obligation to be better. Gun culture is American culture.
I'd also like to point out the sheer lack of effort to help the other man that was murdered by the would be assassin. No one jumped in to help him. Regardless of what happened, all those people standing around Corey Comperatore were completely useless. Standing and pointing at the problem, doesn't solve the problem. Same goes with the shooter. Why didn't anyone else try to go stop him? Everyone just stood around yelling, "There's a guy with a gun." The modern day American needs to realize that they have to be the first responder.
No one is coming to save you fast enough.
