EDGEWATER PARK TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Edgewater Park Township Police Department is actively investigating a pedestrian hit-and-run motor vehicle accident that resulted in serious bodily injury.

On Saturday, September 19, 2026, just before 10:00 p.m., officers responded to the area of Bridgeboro Road between Creek Road and the intersection of Route 130 for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Preliminary investigation determined that a male pedestrian was crossing Bridgeboro Road when he was struck by a light-colored sedan. Following the collision, the vehicle continued traveling on Bridgeboro Road in the direction of Route 130 and left the scene.

The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and remains hospitalized.

We may be slightly late for the day BUT, we would like to proudly recognize the incredible women who serve in law enforcement and the strength, dedication, compassion, and professionalism they bring to the job each and every day.

We are especially proud of the women of the Edgewater Park Police Department who put on the uniform, serve our community, and continue to make a positive impact on those around them. Whether responding to calls, helping someone through a difficult moment, or simply connecting with members of our community, their commitment does not go unnoticed.

Of course, we can’t celebrate the ladies of EPPD without recognizing one very important female member of our department… K9 Belle!

She may have four legs, work for treats, and occasionally shed on her uniform, but she takes her job just as seriously. 😂😂

Happy National Women in Law Enforcement Day!

Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the incredible courage shown by first responders, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, military members, and everyday citizens who ran toward danger to help others.

We remember the innocent lives taken too soon, the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

Twenty-five years later, their courage, sacrifice, and service remain in our hearts. May we continue to honor their memory through unity, kindness, and service to one another.

The Edgewater Park Police Department joins our community and our nation in remembering all those we lost.

Never Forget. 🇺🇸
