Tonight at our City Council Meeting, Deputy Chief Garcia presented Good Citizenship awards to Brett & Jack Barner. In a moment of desperate need, both Brett & Jack sprang into action to help strangers caught in a summer storm on one of our lakes who had fallen into the water without life preservers.

Thanks to their involvement, two lives were saved that day. We will always be grateful for their selfless act toward their fellow citizens.

Yesterday, our accreditation manager, Adam Lafan, received the 2025 Accreditation Manager of the Year award from the Florida Commission for Law Enforcement Accreditation. Adam works year-round to ensure that our agency remains compliant with current standards. Additionally, Adam lends his expertise to other agencies multiple times a year to help them prepare for their next assessment. We are very proud of the work that he does. Congratulations on a well-deserved award!
