We hope everyone had fun and learned a little bit at our STEAM/Literacy Night on Wednesday!

We are incredibly grateful for all of the local organizations that came out to provide activities and engaging lessons for our students and families to participate in throughout the evening. Your willingness to connect with our students to help them expand their worlds and learn new things means so much!

We'd also like to thank U.S. Steel and the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation for joining us. Chris Hannigan of the Edgar Thomson Steel Works has worked with Tina Dietrich, the District's Director of STEAM and Innovation, to create STEM reading nights at every elementary school in the second half of the year. We appreciate his cooperation and coordination to make it so they could visit Wednesday.

Students and families read a story with Chris that had a STEM theme. They were able to take home copies of the book, and more copies will be added to the Edgewood library.

Of course, anytime IceBurgh makes a visit is always a plus!

Finally, we'd also like to thank the staff, parents, and volunteers who helped organize the event and make it something truly enjoyable for all of our students and families. Whsdvex
