Help Us Light Up the Holidays for Edgewood Families! 🚒🎅

We are thrilled to announce our 3rd Annual Toy Drive in partnership with the Town of Edgewood!

For the past two years, this community has shown up in a big way—last year alone, we delivered smiles and gifts to over 50 local kids!

Here’s the plan: On Christmas Eve, our volunteers will chauffeur Santa in a fire truck to hand-deliver gifts directly to families in need. But first, we need your help filling the truck!

🎁 How to Donate:

What: New toys or gift cards (for ages 1–18)

When: Saturday, December 13th from 10am-12pm

Where: Edgewood Town Hall

Let's come together to make this holiday season magical for our neighbors. See you on the 13th!

Santa Fe County is now in "High Fire Danger" status.
đŸ”„Fires can start easily from most causes and small fuels (such as grasses and needles) will ignite readily.
đŸ”„Unattended campfires and brush fires are likely to escape.
đŸ”„Fires will spread easily, with some areas of high-intensity burning on slopes or concentrated fuels.
đŸ”„Fires can become serious and difficult to control unless they are put out while they are still small.

Santa Fe County invites you to attend one of our Wildfire Mitigation Community Education Days.
These free events offer essential information and hands-on resources to help residents, homeowners’ associations (HOAs), and property owners reduce wildfire risk and better prepare for fire-related emergencies. County officials, wildfire experts, and emergency response partners will be on-site to share expert advice and answer questions about key steps in wildfire preparedness and community resilience.
Join us to learn how you can protect your home, neighborhood, and loved ones before wildfire season begins.

This past week has been particularly busy for the Edgewood Fire District. On Sunday afternoon, Santa Fe County Fire Department crews engaged in a firefighting operation against a 795-acre grassfire located near Stanley. Several neighboring fire departments provided mutual aid to the Santa Fe County crews. Subsequently, on Wednesday morning, crews responded to a structure fire that occurred at a residence situated off Barton Road, west of Edgewood.

Please visit us on December 14th and drop off new, unwrapped toys. Santa Claus and some fire trucks will be there! Our members will wrap and deliver these toys to families closer to Christmas. We appreciate your support last year and making it a resounding success—let’s continue this tradition this year!

Volunteers in the Edgewood fire district are busy getting ready for the upcoming Fourth of July events. We'll be participating in the Town of Edgewood parade in the morning, standing by during the fireworks show, and patrolling the district in the evening. Please be careful this weekend and remember that the current fire danger level is HIGH and there is a ban on certain types of fireworks in unincorporated areas of Santa Fe County (https://www.santafecountynm.gov/news/detail/resolution-to-ban-fireworks-passes).
