When it comes to CBRN Protection, one size does NOT fit all. Optimal fit and comfort of protective overgarments, masks, handwear, and footwear are crucial to ensuring warfighters have maximum protection and mobility to accomplish their missions. And not every mission requires the same type of protective gear. Our Joint Project Manager for CBRN Protection works to ensure warfighters have equipment that not only protects them from CBRN threats, but also supports mobility, communication, and mission accomplishment. That's another myth BUSTED!👊

This year, our Joint Project Manager for CBRN Integrated Early Warning (JPM CBRN IEW) reached a Milestone B decision for the Vehicle Integrated Platform Enhanced RADIAC (VIPER) technology. Originally developed by Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR), VIPER is a next-generation radiation detection and monitoring system that can be integrated into U.S. Army ground and aviation platforms. Congrats to our team for getting one step closer to getting the VIPER in warfighters' hands!👏

CBRN defense enables warfighters to operate, manuever, communicate, and accomplish their missions in ANY environment. Here at CPE CBRND, we support National Defense Strategy priorities by strengthening readiness, enhancing lethality, and deterring adversaries from using CBRN threats. Last week, our Director of Acquisition and Systems Management (DASM) Ms. Jen Dabisch participated in a panel on accelerating medical countermeasure development at the I am Biotech's BIO International Convention in San Diego, CA. Alongside panelists from the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) and Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Defense (ODASW(CBRND)), Jen discussed federal priorities for research and development, approaches to strengthen collaboration with industry, innovations to address emerging infectious diseases, and more. - Our Joint Project Manager for CBRN Special Operations Forces is delivering a game-changing decontamination capability to warfighters in hostile, operational environments. The Forward Area Mobility Spray System (FAMS-S) allows warfighters to conduct rapid decontamination so they can quickly re-equip the force and get back to the mission. Learn more.👇

Earlier this month, CPE CBRND team members participated in Exercise Adaptive Shield 2026, a combined tabletop exercise and senior leader seminar between U.S. Forces Korea and the Republic of Korea. Experts from our Strategic Stakeholder Engagements and Joint Project Manager for CBRN Integrated Early Warning teams attended the senior leader seminar to discuss global information sharing, sample management, and integration of partner capabilities. This event is an important way to strengthen the biodefense of the Korean Peninsula and reinforce a strong alliance that is critical to stability across the region. Learn more.👇

Last year, our Joint Project Manager for CBRN Integrated Early Warning (previously JPM CBRN Sensors) achieved Full Operational Capability for the M75 Screening Obscuration Module (SOM). The SOM is a rapidly deployable modular system that degrades adversaries' ability to detect targets, thus increasing warfighter and platform survivability. Congrats to the team for getting this capability into warfighters' hands.👏

To get capabilities to our warfighters faster, our Joint Project Manager for CBRN Integrated Early Warning’s Commercial-Off-the-Shelf Modernization (COTS MOD) team leverages commercially available equipment and user evaluation to streamline the acquisition process. This approach allows our team to quickly field needed capabilities for chemical detection, radiological detection, decontamination, and situational awareness to the joint force. Learn more about the COTS MOD process and how our team is on track to reach Full Operational Capability for the CBRNE Area RAE (pictured below) in just months.👇
