Hi Amazing Edgewood!

Wanted to share this with all of you.

2026 Leaf Collection Schedule

**Please note: For the week of October 26 only, leaf collection that was scheduled for Friday will instead be collected on Thursday. No other days are impacted. The normal schedule will resume the week of November 2.

This is LEAF Collection ONLY- Do not include yard waste. Place your LEAVES at the curb no sooner than the NIGHT BEFORE your pickup.

DO NOT PLACE LEAVES IN THE STREET. THEY CAN BLOCK CATCH BASINS AND BE HAZARDOUS TO MOTORISTS AND PEDESTRIANS. PLEASE KEEP THEM AT THE CURB.

Collection is weather dependent. Heavy rain or snow weighs down the leaves making them harder to vacuum. Additional time can be required if we experience several consecutive days of bad weather. Crews strive to collect each street on the posted day but that is not always possible.

Greetings Amazing Edgewood!

Wanted to share some great work by the dynamic duo of Officers Rick Susalla and Dylan Shoaf:

On October 10, while responding to a report of a suspicious individual near Elm Street and Linden Officers Susalla and Shoaf quickly located a person matching the description provided by dispatch. Through their proactive investigative efforts, witness interviews, and effective coordination, they determined that the individual was in possession of property believed to have been stolen from neighborhood residents. Their investigation resulted in the apprehension of an individual with an active arrest warrant, the recovery of a stolen pressure washer and two packages, and the return of the property to its rightful owners.

Just two days later, on October 12, Officers Susalla and Shoaf responded to a reported attempted burglary at the Edgewood Avenue Express. Despite an extensive initial search that failed to locate the suspect, their persistence and thorough investigative efforts led to the identification and apprehension of an individual matching the suspect's description. Through witness interviews, continued patrol efforts, and the collection of additional evidence, they were able to establish a connection between the individual and the reported crime, resulting in his arrest.

These incidents demonstrate the importance of proactive policing, thorough investigative work, persistence, and effective teamwork. Rather than simply responding to calls for service, they took the additional steps necessary to identify suspects, recover stolen property, and bring these investigations to successful resolutions.

Their actions reflect great credit upon themselves and the Edgewood Police Department and exemplify our commitment to professionalism, community partnerships, and protecting the residents and businesses we serve.
